Hi my name is Theresa, I am a fully qualified member  of the MBACP ( Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

As a Diploma trained Registered Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, I am currently working with clients Face to Face, Online via Zoom, Facetime, WhatsApp, and Telephone.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read my profile today, just by being here you have already taken the brave first step.

I know from my own counselling journey, just  how daunting, scary and vulnerable this time can feel, this personal experience helps me to truly understand and support you with compassion, empathy and without judgment.

We are all unique in how we experience and respond to life’s challenges, at times this can leave us feeling more stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of how to meet our own needs, when that happens even in our everyday life situations, we can feel they are more difficult to manage.

I am here to listen, support and help you to explore new healthier ways to better understand yourself, develop more confidence and strengthen your relationships with yourself and with the people around you, my goal is to work alongside you, listening, supporting, and guiding you through these experiences as they present to you, together we can explore new and effective ways to build the tools you need to be able to navigate your life more confidently.

Through this process, you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, identify your true wants and needs and begin to improve your relationships in the world around you, also by learning new ways to improve your mental well being, you can improve your physical well being, which can also improve your overall quality of life. 

My Approach:

Whilst working as a Integrative Counsellor, i am blending 3 main approaches in the way i work:

  1. Person-Centered Approach: This is my main approach in how i work taking the lead from all my clients, working together we are both focusing always on your agenda, with me always working alongside your unique, individual own wants and needs, always working at a  time and a pace that suits you, i am also working, helping and supporting you to identify the key focus areas, to enable you to continue focusing on living a healthier happier fulfilled life.
  2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): This is when we focus on identifying, relate our challenges with the unhelpful negative patterns and cycles of thinking, feeling and behaving/responding stemming from our  negative past  experiences, by working together on these, you are learning to develop more healthier thinking patterns,  learning more practical tools, coping strategies, helping you to manage any presenting difficulties more effectively, at the same time you are learning to build up your confidence, self esteem and your resilience.
  3. Psychodynamic Therapy: This approach explores our past experiences, and unconscious processes which can influence our present behaviours, impacting on our emotional patterns, by gaining insight into the deeper aspects of the self, you can begin to understand the roots of your personal challenges and learn to create more meaningful, lasting changes to your life and relationships. We will take each session at a time and pace that suits you, which you are comfortable with.

FREE 30 Minute Consultation Meeting

You can Email or Telephone to make the initial contact, we can then arrange a convenient date and time, to book you in for your FREE 30 minute Consulation meeting. (this can be done online via Zoom or by telephone).

This provides an opportunity, for us to meet, you can explore more about, WHY, you find yourself thinking, wanting, needing counselling at this time of your life?, Also WHAT, has brought you here to this point in your life?. I think it is important for us to talk, and to meet me first, (because it can be difficult, to seek help, it provides an opportunity for you, to get a sense about me). We can also begin to explore what you feel you need from the counselling process, and what I can offer from our sessions together. Most importantly, we can work together, focusing, and exploring, on any areas of concern, worry, upset, stress etc.  

After the Consultation

After we have had our consultation session, we will then agree to schedule in your future 1 hour sessions, these sessions take place at the same day and time, each week, unless more sessions are required, requested by you, all sessions are priced at £50 per session. 

Prices are £50 per 1 hour session

FEES: £50 for a full 60 minute session. 

(There is Concession rates especially for Students, NHS workers, Armed forces, and for low income households).
